132nd Square Park

BUT DON'T PUT AWAY THOSE WORK GLOVES JUST YET!
The community build of the playground is just the first of three Phases of improvement planned for 132nd Square Park. The North County Parks Coalition will be applying for $100,000 in community grant funds from King County for additional improvements to the park and YOUR INPUT IS WANTED! There will be a Kick-Off for Phase 2 the first week of September. In the meantime we want to begin gathering input and areas of interest and expertise for the following items that will be pursued in Phase 2:
1) Swings
2) Natural Amphitheatre
3) Exercise Stations (along paths)
4) Basketball court
5) Landscaping
6) Grants (experience writing, securing, etc. Do you know of any organizations that offer matching funds.
7) Be a representative of your neighborhood, business, or area (many places in the Totem Lake/Kingsgate area do not have formal Homeowner Associations. By volunteering to be the contact for your area, street, condos, apartment building, etc updates and information can be communicated more effectively. If you have or work at a Totem Lake area business, please inquire to see if you can get permission to post our area newsletter and/or updates in their place of business.
8) Other - Did we forget anything? Do you have an area of interest or something you can help with that is not noted here? - Please send us an email with your ideas and suggestions.
9) Do you work for Microsoft, Boeing, Google, Amgen - or other companies that offer funds to non-profit organizations if you confirm you have work "x" of volunteer hours on a community project. If you worked on the build project and signed in and signed out, and learn that your company participates in this kind of program, you may still be able to have funds donated to the park
10) Help with translations? There are many residents of our area that are not fluent in English. We want to make sure that we are inclusive of all our residents, friends and neighbors. If you could help us by translating some of our communications into such as Hmong, Chinese, Spanish, or any other that you know are needed, please contact us via email or phone.
